After missing the Algarve Grand Prix due to, according to the official version, a concussion while he fell during training, Márquez will also not be at the Valencia Grand Prix this weekend or next week’s post-season test at the circuit of sherry .

The six – time MotoGP champion suffers from a concussion and above all vision problems . As in 2011, Márquez suffered from diplopia linked to the paralysis of a muscle in his right eye and, therefore, cannot turn. The #93 spoke of “indefinite leave”, although at the moment no operation is planned.

Stefan Bradl replaced Márquez when the Spaniard was out for months with a broken right arm in 2020 and at the start of the current season. And he was also in Portimão last week. However, Honda has given up on putting its reserve driver on track in Valencia.

Bradl will return to the Jerez tests and, before those tests, Pol Espargaró will be the only one to wear the colors of the official team for the last round of the season.

“First of all, I wish Marc the best in this difficult time and I hope he recovers quickly,” said Espargaró, who was sixth in the Algarve Grand Prix. “Obviously his absence from the circuit will be noticeable, but even so we arrived at Valencia motivated to do the best job possible.”

Pol Espargaró likes the Ricardo Tormo circuit in Cheste. There he won in the CEV 125 and although he did not add any success in the three world championship categories, he managed podiums in 125cc and MotoGP, and pole position in one of the two races held last year.

“It’s a circuit that I really enjoy, I got my first MotoGP podium there in 2018 and I think we can go well this year. At this time of year it’s a very good track and that works in our favour. This is the last race, I want keep up with the latest ones before starting to think about 2022 in Jerez”.
