Marc returns to the bike this Sunday in Portimao

After announcing this Friday that he is recovered from the eye injury resulting from the accident he suffered while practicing motocross on October 30, Marc Márquez explained that he needed to confirm that he is ready to get back on a MotoGP bike testing himself on a Grand Prix circuit.

Three months after his accident, Marc spoke at a virtual press conference to give the best news fans could hope for: recovery from his diplopia (double vision) is coming to an end and the driver does not require any surgery.

Circuits such as Barcelona in Montmeló, Cheste in Valencia or Jerez were put on the table to start this new contact in which the #93 would seek to regain ease and complicity on a sports bike. However, the track chosen by Honda and the pilot has been the Portimao Autodrome in the Algarve, in the south of Portugal, just where he reappeared last year after the long shoulder injury.

The objective of the tests is to check if Marc is ready to take part in the first pre-season tests, on February 5 and 6 in Sepang.

Márquez will shoot this Sunday in Portimao with the RC213V-S , a sports bike prepared in which we have already been able to see his teammate Pol Espargaró. This bike is the version of Honda most similar to a MotoGP, with which you can test the stability of your vision at maximum speed and maximum effort.

In addition, on February 8, Márquez, who revealed that there was a real option of having to stop racing, will be with Espargaró at the presentation of the Repsol Honda for the 2022 MotoGP season.

The Cervera rider has shared on his social networks a selfie heading to Portimao with his brother Alex Márquez that could confirm a possible joint training session.
