Marine Corps Historic Half, 17.75K, 10K and more

The Marine Corps Marathon now offers the MCM Event Series, offering exciting running events and guaranteeing entry to the nation’s best-selling grand marathon (main event held in October). Events will run from April through November and will include the Marine Corps 17.75K celebration; the muddy fun of Run Amuck and Mini Run Amuck; the Turkey Trot 10K and Kids Mile. Marine Corps Historic Half events include the 13.1-mile Half Half, Marine Corps Historic 10K (6.2 miles), and Semper Fred 5K (3.1 miles).

Events calendar 2017

  • Marine Corps 17.75K
    March 25, 2017 – Prince William County, VA La
    The finalists’ presentation guaranteed entry to the 38th Marine Corps Marathon. The unique 17.75K distance of 11.03 miles will take place just outside Marine Corps Base Quantico, leading runners on a trail along the wooded trails and scenic driveways of Prince William Forest Park. The 17.75K represents the founding of the Marine Corps in 1775. Runners eight years and older can register to run the 17.75K, but only the 17.75K finalists age 14 and over will receive a guaranteed entry to run the full distance of the marathon. of 26.2 miles on October 27, in Arlington, VA.
  • Marine Corps Historic Half
    May 21, 2017 – Fredericksburg, VA
    The 13.1-mile drive stretches from the Central Park Mall through historic downtown Fredericksburg with impressive landmarks and splendid scenery. The race continues up Fredericksburg’s infamous Hill Hospital to the Marines presenting medals at the finish line of the historic half.
  • Marine Corps Historic 10K
    and Semper Fred 5K
    May 21, 2017- Fredericksburg, VA
    Showcasing a new way of tackling Hospital Hill, the Marine Corps Marathon unveils the new Historic MCM10K where participants ride the final 6.2-mile portion of the Half Historic course. Also new for 2013, the Semper Fred 5K (3.1 miles) becomes a point-to-point race incorporating the Hospital Hill challenge.
  • Run amuck
    Mini Run Amuck

    June 10, 2017 – Marine Corps Base Quantico
    The running event at Marine Corps Base Quantico, Run Amuck, takes participants on a 3.5-mile challenge of mud and obstacles through the trails and hills of Quantico. Facing participants with arduous obstacles, punishing PT stations, messy mud pits and water explosions, this year’s Run Amuck includes the new amended version, Mini Run Amuck, for families to enjoy together.
  • Marine Corps Marathon Triathlon
    August 26, 2017 – Marine Corps Base Quantico
    The sprint distance triathlon will begin with a 400 meter swim in the Quantico 50M pool, adjacent to the Quantico Clubs. Athletes will be released to swim in 15 second increments, based on the expected finish time. After swimming, runners will proceed to the transition area to begin the 9-mile bike course. Rounding out the event is a 3.1-mile round-trip race, highlighted by unparalleled views of the Quantico Marine Corps air facility.
  • Turkey Trot 10K and Kids Mile
    November 18, 2017 – Marine Corps Base Quantico
    A fall classic through the foliage and along Chopawamsic Creek, the Turkey Trot 10K and Kids Mile are the best preventive attack on Thanksgiving calories.
