Today, for the first time in my life, I have felt identified with a model. Perhaps saying it like that sounds a bit pretentious on my part, but I have realized that giving birth leaves us in equal circumstances to (almost) all women. I’m talking about Marisa Jara , the Sevillian model who has recently become a mother and who is leaving some beautiful snapshots on her Instagram account, including this one that I want to show you.

I love the photo, I love its naturalness and I love it even more that he does not want to claim absolutely anything in his message . This is real motherhood: the one that shows unbuttoned pajamas as proof of a woman’s determination to breastfeed her newborn baby, a washed face that has no time (in my case neither time nor desire) to go through a session of makeup, and a mane that follows the same path.
Seeing her I have seen myself in the hospital, deciphering every look, every movement and every inch of my baby… it was what occupied all the time and space at that moment and there was nothing else. Incredibly and after thousands of celebrities who have been encouraged to share their photos of becoming mothers, this one, without poses and without pretensions of any kind, is the one that has touched my soul for bringing memories to my mind in a vivid way.
I think these types of images do us good. In the age of social networks, it is normal for us to compare ourselves with everything we see and idealize. Normalizing that we come out great from the delivery room is a shot that we give ourselves in our own foot because that is not the reality that most of us have lived , so he clapped for Marisa Jara, for this wonderful photo and for having managed to fulfill his dream after having fought so much for him.
