Meta wants to get the metaverse out into the world on a release basis. Mark Zuckerberg ‘s company has just introduced the new Meta Quest Pro , a new viewer that will allow developers and consumers not only to test this type of equipment to play video games, but also use them to generate and enjoy other applications, such as exercise or design products.

“We have been listening to the needs of the developers and we have developed this device thinking about the comfort of the users, but also in the software needs that they have. In fact, it is the first device to have a Snapdragon XR2 processor, in order to open up the collaboration space,” Zuckerberg said at the Meta Connect presentation.

The company took the opportunity to present, together with Satya Nadella, a new Microsoft Teams application within Meta Horizons, where both executives spoke about the scope that the use of this type of device can have for companies and the productivity in use that can be given.

Nadella focused that the experience that can be had with this type of virtual office is in a closer connection with augmented reality models. “We’re bringing an immersive meeting experience from Microsoft Teams to Meta Quest to give people new ways to connect with each other,” said Nadella. Both companies will team up to make virtual reality apps available in Teams, Office, Windows and Xbox.

The new glasses will be priced at $1,499 and will be available from October 25, but are aimed at both developers and end users looking for immersive experiences, according to Zuckerberg.

During the conference they also presented some new APIs that may be interesting for app developers, including one focused on the fitness world where they hope to further exploit the world of the metaverse, beyond video games, according to the CEO of Meta.

According to the company, more than 100,000 million people in Latin America use augmented reality effects on Facebook and Instagram, and Mexico and Brazil are among the top 10 countries with active creators of Spark AR, the app from which they develop this type of apps in Meta.
