However, the Spanish rider, after showing his joy at the return to action this Tuesday, wanted to pause a bit and warn that his goal is to “prepare myself well for the future”, pointing to a full recovery with a view to the season 2023.

“Well, what can I say? I am very excited to return to MotoGP this weekend, especially on a track as special to me as Aragón”, explained the Honda rider in the preview of a weekend that for Marc is the which is closest to his native Cervera.

Márquez does not want to set expectations beyond his own physical progress.

“The objective of this weekend is not to go out and fight directly,” he warns those who remember his spectacular fight, last year on this same stage, with Pecco Bagnaia. “The goal is to build everything and prepare well for the future,” he adds.

In addition to working on his body, the Catalan must intensify, together with Honda, the correction of a motorcycle that, since his 2020 injury in Jerez, has become an unruly machine for the gold wing riders.

“Building myself, the bike, everything. Misano was good, but the race weekend will be different, there is more intensity and less time to rest, so it will be a different kind of challenge,” he warns.

After 100 days without getting on a motorcycle and after a fourth operation on his right arm, Márquez reappeared last week in the official Misano MotoGP tests, he did so with very good feelings and achieving an extraordinarily fast time considering the circumstances, but never in batches beyond six or seven laps. The physical background, the strength and the resistance of a long race like the one in Aragón, will be a new scenario for Marc’s recovered right humerus.

“I’ve been doing a lot of recovery work, also in the gym, as well as getting back on the bike before this weekend. I’m very happy to be back”, repeats a Márquez who has completely recovered his smile.
