Márquez gave his Aragón trophy to the family of Hugo Millán

Hugo Millán lost his life at the age of 14 while participating in the European Talent Cup race held in Alcañiz, falling to the ground and lying in the middle of the track, where he was hit by another driver who was riding right behind him.

The MotoGP World Championship caravan landed on that same stage, the Motorland Aragón circuit, a month and a half later, and the grid of the three categories carried out a heartfelt tribute to the rider from Huelva.

Marc Márquez, who was also present at the event, made a promise to himself that he would do everything in his power to finish on the podium.

The usual encouragement that already involves #93 climbing into the box in a year as complicated as the current one, on that occasion he ran driven by the desire to give the trophy to Millán's family.

Despite the fact that Márquez never wanted to make his particular tribute public, his gesture finally came to light a month after the race, in which he finished second after a close duel with Pecco Bagnaia that lasted until the last lap.

"Hugo; When the whole MotoGP family paid tribute to you at Motorland, I promised myself that I would try to reach the podium with all my strength to give the trophy to your whole family. Rest in peace, champion”, wrote the one from Cervera (Lleida), in his own handwriting, on the front of the plate that constitutes the trophy that is given to the first three.
