The MotoGP World Championship returns to the Misano Circuit , where it was held four weeks ago, to contest the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, the second stop on the calendar on the track named after the late Marco Simoncelli .
On that occasion, Marc Márquez managed to finish fourth at the finish line, taking advantage of the battle between Joan Mir and Jack Miller to overtake them on the last lap.
Between the two races in Misano, the Honda rider achieved his second victory of the season, winning the Grand Prix of the Americas three weeks ago, held in Austin, a talismanic track for the Spanish rider.
Now the Honda rider is focused on improving his performance from the previous race at this same circuit, while he continues to recover from the serious injury he suffered in July 2020 and which continues to condition him.
“We returned to Misano in a better situation; During each weekend we have been able to improve a little more”, explains the rider from Cervera in the preview of the weekend.
“Now we start the last three races of the year, so hopefully we can continue with the trend of the last rounds and finish the season well”, he sets as a goal.
“In the last race here I had a really fun battle with Miller and Mir, so hopefully we can be fighting one more time,” recalls the Honda rider.
The previous race in Misano was held in very hot and humid conditions, a weather situation that is going to be completely different this time. “Let’s see what happens, the conditions could be quite different even though it’s only been a few weeks since the last race.”
Márquez is currently seventh overall in the World Championship and, in the last races of the course, could aspire to the fifth or sixth final position, which is now occupied by Miller and Brad Binder , respectively, and always as the first Honda in the championship.
