The Honda rider was one of the riders who put on the most spectacle during the last race in Jerez, in which he came to fight for the podium to have to settle for fourth place, after a miraculous save, which is his best result in what we are in season.
After the grand prix, on Monday the first official test of the season for the MotoGP teams was held on the same stage, in which Marc Márquez came to work with three different motorcycles in his garage, managing to draw positive conclusions, according to explains the same driver in the preview of the French Grand Prix, which takes place this weekend.
“Overall, the weekend in Jerez was good to include the test on Monday, because we were able to learn a lot,” admits the Spanish rider.
After a week of rest, in which Márquez has been able to continue training to strengthen his right arm and shoulder, the Honda rider calmly faces the Le Mans event, the seventh stop of a course in which he has not yet stepped on the podium.
“Now we come to France to see what is possible. The important thing is to continue building, continue to improve and continue to close the gap with those in front,” he marks as his starting objective.
“In Jerez we made progress and now we have to move on, especially after the test it’s important to see how everything is,” he will try to confirm the improvements.
Márquez has won the French Grand Prix at Le Mans three times, in 2014, 2018 and the last time the year before his injury, in 2019.
“I’ve had some good races at Le Mans and other more complicated ones, it can depend a lot on the weather conditions, but they look good for this weekend,” he said, referring to a weather that, for this weekend, points to sun and pleasant temperatures.
