Martín leads the Aragón FP2 with Márquez qualified for Q2

Jorge Martín, who had not led a practice session since the Sachsenring Warm Up, was the fastest at the end of the first day of the Aragón Grand Prix with a time of 1.47.402, achieved less than four minutes from the end of the session, beating Fabio Quartararo who a few moments before had stopped the clock in 1.47.476, only 74 thousandths less than the Spanish. Third was Johann Zarco, with Enea Bastianini fourth and Pecco Bagnaia behind his new partner in 2023. Alex Rins was sixth, beating Maverick Viñales, both having led the session before, with seven minutes to go, all will mount the new soft rear rubber to attack the times.

Marc Márquez, who reappears this weekend, completed three stints, like in the morning, with a total of 15 laps to set, in his attack on time with soft rubber, a time of 1.47.761 which served him to be eighth and enter, provisionally, in the fight for pole. The Honda man achieved his best time with the RC213V mounting the new Kalex aluminum swingarm.

Jack Miller and Luca Marini completed the top 10, leaving drivers like Aleix Espargaró (13th), Miguel Oliveira (15th), Joan Mir (21st) or Pol Espargaró, who finished the 23rd in clear contrast to his teammate.
