Maverick Viñales topped the time sheet for the second day of shakedown at Sepang. Aprilia ‘s regular rider managed to beat Raúl Fernández’s time during the first day of testing on the Malaysian circuit (1:59.833). Ahead of test drivers and championship rookies, Maverick Viñales finished Tuesday after shooting a total of 49 laps.

During this day, the only team with championship concessions has been testing the RS-GP behind closed doors, one day after Aprilia tester Lorenzo Savadori did so.

The second fastest time of the day was for Ducati (2:00.565). Michele Pirro was once again present on Tuesday testing the Desmosedici as the main task. However, the big absentee from this shakedown day was Fabio Di Giannantonio’s Ducati. The Roman driver missed the second day of testing at Sepang due to an upset stomach.

During this day intended for rookies and test drivers, the interior of the Mooney VR46 Racing Team celebrated the third fastest time of the day at the hands of its rookie Marco Bezzecchi (2:00.774)

After setting the pace on Monday, the rider from Madrid Raúl Fernández has managed to enter fourth on the time sheet (2:00.819)

Remy Gardner, for his part, finished seventh behind Guintoli (Suzuki), who was once again the most consistent driver, with 56 laps and the sixth record of the day. The Tech3 Australian continues to recover from his left wrist injury sustained during motocross training two weeks ago.

In his battle to adapt to the Yamaha after a direct bridge from Moto3, Darryn Binder managed to sign the eighth fastest on Tuesday (2:01.297).

During the day yesterday, Stefan Bradl was forced to be an oblivious witness to the action on track. Their prototype failed to make it to the Malaysian track on time and HRC missed the first day of shakedown at Sepang. However, the German did have the opportunity to get on the RC213V for 51 laps on Tuesday. In this way, the HRC test driver has managed to sign a time (2:01.361) that places him as the ninth fastest of the day.

Like yesterday, Dani Pedrosa could also be seen collaborating for the Austrian team. The Spanish rider, together with Kallio, have posted the tenth and eleventh fastest times of the day.

Aprilia test rider Lorenzo Savadori has trailed KTM ahead of the Iwata brand. Finally, under the name of Yamaha Test 1 and Yamaha Test 2 were Katsuyuki Nakasuga and Kohta Nozane while Cal Crutchlow extended his absence until Wednesday.

The activity will resume tomorrow, Wednesday, February 2, from 03:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (Spanish time). As we previously mentioned, these tests will not be broadcast live, but you will be able to follow the results through our website and the official platform of the championship.
