The MX-5 Rally of Records, held on September 18 at the Modena circuit, officially became the world’s largest concentration of Mazda MX-5 models, with 707 cars. It will even enter the Guinness Book of Records . With this, it broke the record that was established in the Netherlands in 2013, which, with 683 cars, had held the record for almost a decade.

The parade brought together models from all four generations of the legendary Mazda MX-5. The event took place on the famous Italian circuit of Modena, under the watchful eye of a Guinness World Records judge who, at 6 p.m., declared the record official to the delight of thousands of Mazda MX-5 fans from all of Italy and other European countries. This very special concentration has served the Mazda Italy team to rewrite a page in the history of the best-selling roadster of all time.

During the event that culminated in the new record, the public had the opportunity to participate in numerous activities organized by Mazda, such as the presentation The pleasure behind the wheel will never die, which included the interventions of the Japanese engineer Nobuhiro Yamamoto , director of the programs of the 3rd and 4th generation Mazda MX-5, together with Elisa Artioli , car lover and granddaughter of Romano Artioli , former owner of Lotus, and Andrea Levy , president of the Milano Monza Motor Show (MI.Mo). Each of them explained, through different stories, what sparked their passion for this car and for driving pleasure, what Mazda calls Jinba-Ittai and which can be described as the intuitive connection between a Mazda and its driver. .

In another presentation, entitled Mazda MX-5: Stories of an Icon, Yamamoto, together with Andrea Mancini , owner of ‘Miataland’, a luxury hotel complex located in the Umbrian hills where he keeps his collection of MX-5s, David Giudici , director of Ruoteclassiche, Youngtimer and AutoItaliana, and other participants, spoke of their love for the MX-5 through the stories of those who designed it, those who have one, those who collect it and those who drive it every day.
