The McLaren team announced the presentation day of its car for the 2022 season, and it will be, for the moment, the second team to reveal its car, on February 11. The Woking team confirmed the date, as well as the time, through an email to its followers.
The British will present their MCL36 on Friday, February 11 at 7:00 p.m. GTM (8:00 p.m. in Spanish peninsular time). In the statement they have released they indicate that “they are delighted” to confirm the big day at the Woking factory.
The team also published a short one-minute video on its social networks in which a supercar of the brand is seen arriving at the McLaren Technology Center, with special nods to the founder, Bruce, to the double achieved in the last Italian Grand Prix (the first victory since the 2012 Brazilian GP), to the new Extreme E car and its golden era single-seaters.
“At 19:00 GTM, we will present the McLaren Racing 2022 program live from the MTC, in collaboration with Sky Sports F1, as we present our 2022 Formula 1 car, the McLaren MCL36. You will also be able to listen to the Arrow teams McLaren SP, McLaren Extreme E and McLaren Shadow ahead of their 2022 season,” the statement said.
This will be the car with which they will try to return to the top in the Grand Circus thanks to the new technical rules, since 2022 is an opportunity for all the teams. Those from Woking will have Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo as drivers for the second consecutive season, a couple that has accumulated 270 grand prix and 8 victories.
McLaren will present its single-seater 12 days before pre-season testing at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya, joining Aston Martin and Ferrari as the teams that have already announced the presentation day of their cars.
In the case of Aston Martin, the first on the grid to specify the date, they indicated that the world will meet the AMR22 on February 10, while Ferrari will reveal the appearance of its car on February 17.
