Mercado Libre is already one of the 100 most valuable brands in the world, surpassing Adidas, Uber and KFC

Mercado Libre is among the 100 most valuable brands in the world, within the ‘BrandsZ: Most Valuable Global Brands 2022’ ranking, by Kantar. It is the only Latin American company included in this list and it is, in fact, the first time that an Argentine brand has entered this select group.

With 71st place, MercadoLibre surpasses other well-known global brands such as Siemens, Snapchat, BMW, DHL and even Uber, Zara, Adidas and IKEA.

The estimated value of the Mercado Libre brand is 29.916 million dollars, which is enough for its debut in the Kantar ranking, along with 11 other companies that had never occupied a place in the list.

Mercado Libre is a retail company, specialized in electronic commerce, of Argentine origin and that has also entered the ranking of the 500 largest companies in Mexico by Expansión.

In Kantar’s BrandsZ, Mercado Libre is considered one of the pioneers of e-commerce.

If only the Retail line of business is considered, Mercado Libre ranks 14th in the Top 20 Retail of Kantar’s BrandsZ, with a value of 14,887 million dollars. Just behind Shopee, eBay, Aldi and IKEA.

At the top of this segment is Amazon with a value of 281.695 million dollars, followed far behind by The Home Depot, TMall, Walmart and Costco.

The 100 most valuable brands grow 23% in the last year

The total value of the brands included in Kantar’s BrandsZ 2022 rose 23%, compared to the previous ranking. Which means that, together, they represent a value of 8.7 billion dollars.

According to the Kantar report, Apple increased its value by 55% from 2021 to 2022, reaching 947,062 million dollars. Google jumped 79% to reach $819.573 million. While the third fastest growing brand was Louis Vuitton, with an advance of 64%.
