Mercedes says Hamilton 'is back'

Precisely on the day that a meeting of the Formula 1 Commission will be held , which will be attended by the directors of the championship, the representatives of the teams and the delegates of the FIA to know the first decisions about what happened in the Great F1 2021 Abu Dhabi Award , Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton have announced that they are back.

The seven-time world champion left social media after he lost the world title to Max Verstappen after being overtaken on the final lap in a hand-to-hand fight in which the Red Bull man took victory.

Hamilton did not attend the post-race press conference and from then on he spiraled into silence on his social media, but this changed in the last two weeks when he became active again on his profiles.

This February 14, the Mercedes team made a publication on its Twitter account with the statement that “44 is back”, accompanied by a photo of Lewis Hamilton from behind looking at the number that will appear on his car.

During the weeks of his silence, the rumor was generated that the Englishman could leave the top category, but now it is clear that he will compete alongside George Russell, recently incorporated into Mercedes as a substitute for Valtteri Bottas, rejecting the idea that he would wait until the completion of the investigation into what happened in Abu Dhabi.

During the meeting of the Formula 1 Commission it is expected that some decisions on race direction will be made. It is unclear whether Michael Masi will continue in his role or his duties will be shared with other people, keeping the Australian in charge. The information will only be delivered to the people of the commission and there is no certainty that they will be known on this day.

The German brand will present its W13, the car with which it will compete in F1 2022, on February 18, a few days before the first pre-season tests in Barcelona.
