Mercedes Unveils its Artistic NFT Rear Spoiler for Miami

In collaboration with team sponsor FTX , the cryptocurrency company, has released a selection of digital collectibles (NFTs) for the 2022 Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix weekend.

These include special designs by artist Mad Dog Jones , whose artwork will adorn the rear wings of Lewis Hamilton and George Russell’s Mercedes on the new American layout.

After the race weekend, Mercedes and FTX will auction the rear wings, along with the corresponding NFTs. This will help raise money for Ignite , the joint charity initiative powered by the team and Hamilton’s Mission44 to help support the great diversity and inclusion within motorsport.

In addition to the main artwork, Mercedes and FTX plan to release free ” Ticket Stubs ” throughout this year to increase participation. There will be a limited edition of 2,500 units in most events, with a limited edition of 1,000 objects in five specific races, Miami being one of them.

Mercedes Commercial Director Richard Sanders said: “Finding new and innovative ways to engage with our global fan base is a key priority for the team.

“Collecting memorabilia has always been an important part of following your favorite sports team, and we’re excited to create these cool digital collectibles that will also unlock new ways for fans to get closer to Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1.”

Avi Dabir , Vice President of Business Development at FTX, added: “FTX is delighted to collaborate with the ensemble on this auction that connects unique NFT works of art with a key component of Lewis [Hamilton] and George [Russell] cars. in Miami in a first for the team and the sport.

FTX is taking advantage of the Miami Grand Prix weekend to launch its sponsorship program with a special ” Off the Grid ” event in South Beach, which will include a show car drive down Ocean Drive.
