Whether your pleasure is downhill skiing or an indoor event, there is something for everyone this month. Zehnder’s Snow Party

Where: Frankenmuth
Frankenmuth is home to one of Michigan’s premier winter events: Zehnder’s Snowfest, where ice and snow carvers from around the world come to create a magical winter landscape. In addition to carvings made of ice and snow, the event features fireworks, a zoo, and activities for children.

Fire and ice festival

Where: Third and Water Streets, Downtown Rochester
Celebrating all things winter, the Fire and Ice Festival returns to downtown Rochester with an ice sculpture show, beer tent, tube sled race, fireworks, dog sled demonstrations, ice skating , snowshoeing, cross-country skiing, carriage rides and the Big, Bright Light show in downtown Rochester.

TigerFest 2015

The 20th Annual Tigerfest allows fans to interact with the team’s players and coaches. In addition to the entire mix of fans, the event includes autograph sessions, photo booths, seminars, batting cages, clubhouse tours, baseball bat sculptures, ice sculpture, and face painting. Tickets are $ 28 per adult / $ 14 per child.

Festival popular de Ann Arbor

Where : Hill Auditorium, Ann Arbor
In its 38th year, the Ann Arbor Folk Festival celebrates all folk music, roots and ethnicities. A host of musical artists will perform for two nights, including Brandi Carlile, Bahamas, Amos Lee, Holly Williams, Noah Gundersen, and Laith Al-Saadi. Tickets start at $ 37.50 for one night / $ 67.50 for both nights. Proceeds will benefit The Ark.

Campus Martius Ice Skating

Where: Woodward Avenue, Downtown Detroit
The park on the Martius campus was designed to be the central square of the city. During the winter months, the park offers an ice-skating spot, and the nearby coffee shop offers hot chocolate to keep Detroiters warm and toasty.

Michigan, winters give us plenty of opportunities to ice skate and shovel snow, but they also give us a unique set of outdoor sports, including downhill skiing. There are four ski resorts in and around the Metro-Detroit area.

Detroit Institute of the Arts

Arts Alive! After six and a half years of renovations, the New Detroit Institute of Arts (DIA) opened its doors in 2007 to showcase its new design and galleries. The DIA is always packed with events, including movies, exhibits, and music.
