Mexico creates 157,432 jobs with social security in August

August was the second best month of the year for the creation of jobs before the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS).

In the eighth month of the year, 157,432 new jobs were registered, 22.13% more than in the same month of 2021, according to data from the Institute.

76.2% of the positions created were permanent and the rest temporary. The average salary of a worker was 484.3 pesos.

The economic sectors with the highest increase in job creation were transportation and communications with 8.6%, construction with 5.3% and commerce with 4.1%.

The states of the country that reported the highest job creation were Baja California Sur, Tabasco and Quintana Roo, while Sinaloa, San Luis Potosí and Zacatecas were the entities with the lowest job creation.

The Bank of Mexico (Banxico) recently announced that job creation this year will range between 640,00 and 800,000 positions before the IMSS and expects a decrease the following year.
