The MotoGP World Championship returns to activity at Silverstone , with the celebration of the British Grand Prix. The cancellation of the Finnish Grand Prix, scheduled for July, allowed the drivers to have a month’s vacation.
Jack Miller decided to take the opportunity to travel to his native Australia, since he lives in Europe during the season. “Everyone says it was too long, but it was too short for me,” he declared at the press conference held this afternoon.
“I spent three weeks at home, which was good. A little bit of motocross, catching up with family, going camping… I’ve really enjoyed it.”
The Ducati Team rider arrives in England motivated and believes that Silverstone can work in his favour. “Last year we had a good fight, and with the improvements we’ve made with GP22 I think, papers in hand, this circuit could benefit us. We’ll see what we can get out of our arsenal this weekend.”
Miller, with his inexhaustible sense of humor and in view of the fact that the press conference revolved around the suspension of Fabio Quartararo, took the opportunity to throw a taunt at him. “I would not like to have to suffer the long lap that Fabio will have to do, which has already happened to me a couple of times”, he commented.
But the most tense moment of the press conference was when his teammate, Pecco Bagnaia, was asked about the traffic accident he suffered in Ibiza and in which he tripled the permitted alcohol level.
Bagnaia tried to ride out the storm, visibly upset, and when asked about it again, Miller came to his defense . “This [talking about the accident] only brings negativity. It is not necessary to continue commenting on it. He has said what he had to say, period,” he settled.
Back to strictly sporting, Jack says he doesn’t set any goals for the rest of the year (his last season on the back of a Desmosedici), and limits himself to achieving the best possible results.
“We have worked a lot and we have a great technical package. We are going to make the most of it, we are going to try and see what happens.”
“As you could see in Assen, we are capable of achieving great things. We are going to go race by race, trying to get as many podiums as possible and enjoying ourselves,” he concluded.
