The free corona tests devour millions of euros in taxpayers' money every day. That should change from October 11th.
Hamburg – The federal and state governments have agreed that the corona tests will no longer be free from October 11th. Then anyone who does not take advantage of a vaccination offer has to pay for the corona test out of their own pocket. Excluded from this regulation are, among others, pregnant women, children and people who cannot be vaccinated against the corona vaccine due to an illness or allergy.
There is a reason why the federal government does not want to pay for the tests in the future, as it has done in the past: They are simply too expensive! Millions of euros are made available every day for corona rapid tests. This is particularly annoying for vaccinated taxpayers, because with their taxpayers' money they pay for corona tests for those people who do not want to be vaccinated despite the offer.
