Minecraft will stop supporting PS3, PS Vita, Wii U and Xbox 360 after Update Aquatic

0

‘Minecraft’ has been with us for a long time: officially, since the end of 2011. And if we talk about its appearance on consoles, the thing would start with Xbox 360 in early 2012 and continue with PS3 at the end of 2013.

The adaptations of PS Vita and Wii U arrived shortly after (2014 and 2015, respectively), hence it is not surprising that Mojang will end his support for all these versions as soon as the Update Aquatic is published, an update that will take us to the bottom of the sea very soon.

After this, only Linux, Mac and Windows operating systems, mobile devices and current consoles (Nintendo Switch, PS4 and Xbox One) will continue to have Mojang support for future updates.

The reason? That the old generation of consoles only accounts for 5% of active players, hence the team had to make the difficult decision to turn the page and focus on the new generations. One of the latest developments was, in fact, the arrival of Xbox Live achievements on Switch.
