Place and time

The Missouri History Museum is located along the north side of Forest Park at the intersection of Lindell and DeBaliviere. The museum is open every day from 10 a.m. M. At 5 p. M., With extended hours from Tuesday to 8 p.m. M. The museum is closed on Thanksgiving and Christmas. Admission is free.

Exhibitions and galleries

Much of the focus of the Missouri History Museum is on the early history of St. Louis and Missouri. There is an ongoing exhibit on the 1904 World’s Fair, and another on the changes St. Louis has seen in the last 200 years. Each year the museum also features several short-term exhibits that focus on a variety of topics, from The Civil War to Native American treasures. Some of the special exhibits have an admission fee.

Those interested in genealogy can find a wealth of information in the museum’s Library and Research Center. The center has the most extensive collection of records, archives, and photographs in the area documenting the history of St. Louis, the state of Missouri, and the Mississippi River region.

The Library and Research Center are located near the History Museum at 225 South Skinker Boulevard on the west side of Forest Park.
