Morata Penalty: The player continues to win, he missed a penalty against Slovakia in the 11th minute | Eurocup

Spain enjoyed a penalty in the 10th minute in the clash they were playing on the green of La Cartuja against Slovakia. Álvaro Morata assumed the responsibility of throwing the maximum penalty after Gerard Moreno also missed one in the clash against Poland . The Juventus forward shot to his left side and the Slovakian goalkeeper guessed his intentions by stopping him.

It was the 10th minute of the game when Hromada knocked down Koke inside the area. The referee of the match, the Dutchman Björn Kuipers , did not see anything, but after a few minutes of review they warned him from the VAR room to go to the monitor to see the action. There were no doubts and the referee had to rectify his first decision and point out the cal point because the infraction was flagrant.

With Spain needing the victory to ensure their pass to the round of 16 of Euro 2020 , Álvaro Morata , criticized these weeks for his continuous failures, assumed the responsibility of taking the penalty. On the previous match day Gerard Moreno scored one against Poland and now it was the Juventus striker who replaced him as the shooter of the maximum penalty.

Álvaro Morata took a run and shot to the right of the goalkeeper. Martin Dubravka , who plays for Newcastle , guessed which side the forward was going to shoot and was able to put his fists in to prevent the ball from sneaking into Slovakia’s goal. This failure joins the long list of errors that Morata has made throughout this European Championship in which Spain has lacked a goal.
