More than an option, a necessity: the digitization of companies

0

(Expansion) – Digitization is a term that is usually attributed only to companies in the technology sector, however, let me tell you why this concept goes much further and can be applied to all types of industries.

Although digitization does not have a single definition, it is based on two basic factors: eliminating physical documents and modifying processes at the operational level through the use of digital technologies and media.

In this sense, when I comment that digitization is for all sectors, it is because any company can digitize itself from the elimination of the use of physical documents to the implementation of technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, Big Data, IoT, mobility and cloud that help to evolve the processes of all areas within companies.

Now that we know what digitalization is, it is important to mention that the real challenge lies in the process of adoption by employees, since it implies building a new organizational culture focused on transformation.

Therefore, to achieve this change in mindset , it is first necessary to constantly monitor how the staff is currently adopting electronic means and technology to execute personalized training that allows them to take steps towards digital thinking.

For this reason, it is essential that people be at the center of all technological implementation strategies, since they must accept, promote and promote the use of new digital tools.

So where to start? Small steps mean big results. It is essential to understand that root changes should not be made, but that staff should be guided step by step during the technology implementation process.

There are specific actions that help devise personalized strategies depending on the needs of the organization:

– Help Desk: Although the implementation is important, it is also important to have the constant accompaniment of the experts during the digitization process to provide timely follow-up and thus avoid operational problems.

– Identify what can be digitized: Know the operational processes of organizations by classifying, restructuring and evaluating the useful life of information.

– Implementation and delivery of strategies: Through in-depth knowledge of the company, innovative solutions are proposed to take organizations beyond their expectations.

– Evaluate ROI and financial parameters: Technology adoption does not require large investments, however, it is important to know the financial parameters of each company to establish a strategy that is tailored to the specific needs of the company.

Companies that have not yet started the digitization process must be clear that they first need to make a change in the culture of the organization focused on technological thinking.

This change in mentality, together with advice from strategic allies, will make companies, whether small, medium or large, exceed the objectives set and challenge themselves to meet new ones in order to have added value and be leaders in their industry. .

Without a doubt, the digital transformation of companies is no longer an option, it is a necessity as it directly impacts the business and today most companies in different industries are undertaking this journey.
