MotoGP assures that the damaged cargo plane in Kenya will arrive in Argentina

Those responsible for the MotoGP World Championship have reassured those affected and have ensured that all the necessary material to face the Argentine Grand Prix that is being held this weekend will arrive on time, specifically on Thursday, the day before the motorcycles leave the asphalt.

Last Saturday, the official twitter account of the Argentine Grand Prix reported that the logistics were underway, that of the five aircraft that were to land at the San Miguel de Tucumán airport, four had done so, and that the material from two of them, it was already unloaded in the Termas paddock.

Initially, the data was not given extreme importance, but with the passing of days one of the five planes that took off last week from the island of Lombok , in Indonesia, site of the previous grand prize, still did not arrive in Argentina, and At the moment it still doesn’t.

 

As reported by Sky Italia, and confirmed by Motorsport.com , one of the cargo aircraft used by the championship landed in Mombasa , Kenya, as planned, detecting a fault that keeps it on the ground.

At the same time, those responsible for the championship assured that the repair of the plane is already in its final phase and that its arrival in Argentina in the next few hours is guaranteed, so the dispute over the grand prize is not in any danger.

Ducati, among those affected

Among the teams that have not been affected by the delay is Honda , which already has all its material in the Termas de Río Hondo pits and will start assembling the bikes this Wednesday to have them fully prepared.

This is not the case, however, with other teams. As Motorsport.com has learned , some of the material from the official Ducati team and its satellites Gresini Racing and VR46 Racing Team , is inside the plane sitting at Mombasa Moi International Airport .

In addition to those mentioned, other teams that await the arrival of part of their material, which is on the damaged plane, are Suzuki, Yamaha, KTM, RNF and Tech3, in addition to a large part of the tire supplier’s work material, Michelin.

According to the information handled by the Italian team, the material will not arrive until the circuit box on Thursday afternoon, so there will be extra work and against the clock for the mechanics, who will have to assemble the prototypes in record time to have them ready for Friday morning before the start of the first free practice of the weekend.
