Jerez.- The Italian from Ducati stopped the clock at 1:36.872 on his 12th lap of the 25 he did before stopping at one in the afternoon on the second day of official testing taking place at the Jerez Circuit. Pecco Bagnaia improved by almost half a second the best mark of the previous day, left by Takaaki Nakagami.
The official Ducati riders are touring with the 2022 bike and this Friday they have mounted black fairings with new aerodynamics.
The Japanese from Honda , precisely, was the second best of the morning with 1:37.672, improving his time from yesterday and beating Fabio Quartararo (third) with the Yamaha 2022, Joan Mir (fourth) with the Suzuki 2022, and Pol Espargaró , which was fifth.
The Repsol Honda rider was the first to go out on the track, initially with the 2021 bike to quickly enter the box and take the 2022 machine that Alex Márquez used on Thursday. Nakagami continued to lap with yesterday’s bike, the other 2022 version, which Pol will use this Friday afternoon, while Márquez did so with this year’s prototype to be 13th.
Alex Rins already left with the complete pack of the 2022 Suzuki that the factory has brought to Jerez: new engine, chassis and swingarm (Mir already had it yesterday), as well as aerodynamic solutions, to be the sixth fastest time, ahead of Enea Bastianini (seventh), who is showing himself very fast with the Ducati 2021, just like Luca Marini, who was eighth.
The KTM duo, Brad Binder and Miguel Oliveira closed the top 10 with a time of 1:30.0, and this Friday they had the help of tester Dani Pedrosa, who after not going out on the track yesterday did do so this morning.
