MotoGP – Nakagami undergoes surgery on his right hand for the second time

0

Buriram.- The Japanese fell to the ground after being run over by Marc Márquez’s Honda on the first lap of the last Aragón Grand Prix, after Márquez lost control of his bike, blocked as a result of an impact moments before with Fabio Quartararo.

Takaaki Nakagami underwent surgery that same Monday, where the surgeons repaired the abrasion that, above all, focused on the two small fingers of his right hand, especially the little finger.

A few hours later, Taka got on a plane to travel to Japan, where the World Cup landed again after two years of absence, as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. There, with a lot of pain and some other painkillers, Nakagami was able to complete the weekend, although, at times, it seemed that he was touching the bearable limits of suffering.

On Sunday he crossed the finish line in last position, and before the media he acknowledged that, “had it not been in Japan, I would not have run.” The effort, in any case, took its toll and forced him to undergo another operation, after visiting a doctor who is an expert in hand injuries.

In this case, the intervention took place in Japan and forced him to miss the Thai Grand Prix, where LCR replaced him with Honda test rider Tetsuta Nagashima.

Although at this point there is no confirmation from the team, the 14 days remaining before the Chiba rider has to get back on the bike, at Phillip Island , lead us to think that he will have enough time to be in a position to compete in Australia , in two weeks, in what will be the penultimate round of the 2022 MotoGP season.
