MotoGP: Oliveira wins in Barcelona and Quartararo is sanctioned

The victory is the first of the course for the Portuguese and also for KTM , and in some way endorsed the step forward taken by the orange motorcycle brand at Mugello last weekend.

After commanding most of the test, Oliveira came out the winner of two duels; the first with Quartararo and the second with Johann Zarco , who finally crossed the finish line second. El Diablo finished third, despite the fact that the stewards imposed a three-second penalty on him for cutting the first variant of the Circuit de Barcelona Catalunya, which moved him back to fourth, the position that initially corresponded to Jack Miller (third).

The Yamaha offered one of the most bizarre images of recent times, opening the suit, removing the chest protection and taking the last turns bare chested.

Joan Mir finished fifth after spending much of the race in podium positions, while sixth place went to Maverick Viñales . The two won a place due to the subsequent sanction against Quartararo from Race Direction for the incident with the suit.

Pecco Bagnaia , who was never in a position to make contact with the front pack, finished seventh, ahead of Brad Binder (eighth), Franco Morbidelli (ninth) and Enea Bastianini (10th).

After the crashes of Pol Espargaró (lap 5) and Marc Márquez (in lap 8), Alex Márquez , eleventh, was the best Honda rider on a day in which Aleix Espargaró (lap 11) and Valentino Rossi also crashed (round 17).
