MotoGP – Rins: "Obviously I would like Brivio to come back"

Cheste.- Alex Rins finished with the fourth fastest time on the first day of the Valencia Grand Prix, showing that the Ricardo Tormo Circuit adapts to his driving style.

The Suzuki rider was happy with the work of this first day, in which a lot of time was lost due to the rain that appeared in FP1, and he hopes to advance this Saturday in the classification and start with those in front.

“It’s been a good day, it’s a shame that FP1 was wet, we weren’t able to improve the setting , but in FP2 we went fast, we put the bike in crisis a bit to see where it fails and how we can improve it . We’ll see if we can improve the bike a bit for Saturday, it was hard for me to turn in the fast corners, but I think we’ve done a good job for tomorrow”, Rins summed up the day.

Starting from that base, the #42 does not rule out continuing with its good harmony with the Valencian track.

“This is a scenario in which we have always achieved a good result, so why not this weekend, we are going to fight from today, we have started off on the right foot, we are going to see how we qualify tomorrow and if we can take a small step more in the race”.

However, the news of the day in the Suzuki environment is the alleged refusal of the Alpine team to part with Davide Brivio next season, which would lead to a possible return to Suzuki who is now seen to be away.

It is key to have a Team Manager figure

Motorsport.com asked Rins if he had any information about it or any names of possible candidates, and if it was irrefutable that he would return this figure from Team Manager to Suzuki.

“Honestly, they haven’t told me any names and I just spoke now with Sahara (Suzuki Project Leader) in his office, but about other issues. Of course it is important that whoever comes has experience in the world of MotoGP, but I know the same as you do, what comes out on social networks and what my friends tell me, who tell me that the media said today that the conversations with Brivio they are cooling down,” he said.

Rins has never hidden his good relationship with the Italian executive, who brought him to the team.

“I’m not going to lie to you, obviously I’d like Davide to come, but if it can’t be, I trust that they will take the best possible person for that position. Of course it is key to have a Team Manager figure for next year”, settled the Barcelonan.
