The Suzuki rider , despite the fact that he continues to drag the injury to his right arm, feels strong and with the pace to fight for the third step of the podium, since he sees the Yamaha of Viñales and Quartararo unapproachable on this track.
Rins suffered a crash at the end of Q2 that possibly prevented him from improving to 7th place on the grid.
“Luckily I’m fine from the crash, a little slip from the front. A pity because it had been improving a bit, I don’t know if it was to be in the second row”, as I had predicted the day before.
“We have to be happy, we have gone straight to Q2, we have had a good FP4, testing the hand and the tires. I still don’t know what tires we’re going to run with. We have to analyze and see where we can scratch a tenth”, he said.
However, the Barcelonan is fighting for the top positions.
“Real options? I think we can fight for the third position on the podium or a top 5, it would be realistic. The Yamahas are one step ahead”, he argued.
About the fall, one more this season for Suzuki, he had no explanation.
“I don’t really know the reason for the fall. It has been opening gas and I still don’t have an explanation. I don’t know if it’s that we’re going to the limit, with a lot of angle and we lose the front end, we don’t have a clear explanation”, he argued.
Finally, Rins was asked about the hand injury.
“I’m fine with my hand, but the good thing is that when I stop it’s not very inflamed. I will try to take something for the race because this track is much more physical in terms of changing direction at high speeds. I will finish it. Bad, but I will finish the race”, he assured.
