MotoGP: schedules of the 2021 San Marino GP and where to watch it (free and paid)

0

The MotoGP caravan moves directly from the Motorland Circuit to Misano for the San Marino Grand Prix, the 14th round of 2021.

This weekend there will be several novelties on the grid. Franco Morbidelli returns after five races out. He will not do it with the Petronas SRT , but will be promoted to the official Yamaha team. His place in the Malaysian squad will be taken by Andrea Dovizioso. In addition, Michele Pirro (Ducati) and Stefan Bradl (Honda) will be wild cards . Not so Dani Pedrosa , who finally will not participate due to KTM ‘s decision .

Despite the bad race he starred in Aragón, Fabio Quartararo continues to be the outstanding leader of the championship. In fact, he will be looking for his first match ball, that is, to achieve enough of an advantage to be able to be champion in Austin two weeks later.

The grand prix will get under way on Thursday 16, with the usual official press conference for the drivers scheduled at 5:00 p.m., to which Quartararo, Pecco Bagnaia, Joan Mir, Marc Márquez, Valentino Rossi and Aleix Espargaró are invited.

In addition, this weekend the MotoE title is decided. Alessandro Zaccone, Eric Granado and Jordi Torres arrive separated by eight points with two races remaining.

How the MotoGP teams and riders arrive at the 2021 San Marino GP

Fabio Quartararo did not have his day in the Motorland race and with the victory of Pecco Bagnaia his advantage was reduced to 53 points over the Italian, who is now second in the drivers’ table. But with only 125 points at stake, if he left Misano with more than 50 he could mathematically be champion in the United States two weeks later.

The Monster Energy Yamaha retained the team lead, but Ducati moved ahead of the brand on the tuning forks in the constructors.
