MotoGP technique | Suzuki intimidates with new GSX-RR engine

0

The Suzuki Ecstar team wanted to make the most of the information collected during the 2021 course to make the GSX-RR its best version. With the six podiums of Joan Mir and the pace of Alex Rins, the Japanese team is committed to small -but promising- changes and increases its expectations for this new course.

The key for Suzuki this season is balance and power . In search of the first, the GSX-RR took advantage of its strength: cornering. Suzuki used this to deal with tire wear caused by an attempt to overcome the strength of the V4. And in this development, electronics has played a leading role.

After two years of freezing, the Hamamatsu factory has gone all out for a new engine that gives the GSX-RR a fighting chance in terms of power and top speed, and these results have already made themselves felt in early testing. the season in Malaysia and Indonesia. In this way, the four cylinders in line of the Japanese team are prepared for a new battle against the V4.

If we talk about chassis , it is mandatory to mention a commitment to the same carbon chassis used in Misano in 2021. However, it is difficult to discover if the Japanese team expects to reveal other updates.

Regarding aerodynamics , the Japanese team has not presented too many new features compared to the last ones registered. During Sepang a small lip could be seen on the wing on the right side of the bike, protruding from the rear and reminiscent of the tactic employed by Honda three years ago. However, Suzuki might not have gone ahead with this project, due to the fact that it was not repeated in Mandalika.

Later, Suzuki opted for more inclined wings that could give reasons to confirm that the aerodynamic package would not vary too much for the first race of the season.

At Suzuki they have speed and race pace. Now, only the results are missing to play a season in which they could reap the fruits of the information and effort from 2021.
