The Hague – The Netherlands has been a corona high incidence area as of today. The federal government made the decision on Friday. Travelers returning from a high-incidence area must be fully vaccinated or recovered to bypass a ten-day quarantine and reduce it to five days.

Although the corona incidence in the Netherlands has decreased day by day since July 20, it is still 237.2 on Tuesday. A high incidence area can be decided by the government from an incidence of 200.
But travel this summer could not only cause problems to the Netherlands, Spain and Great Britain. The USA has now announced that it will maintain the corona-related entry restrictions for Europeans for the time being. Corona incidence in the USA: President Joe Biden does not shake Covid-19 rules because of the Delta variant
The US government justified the decision to maintain the entry restrictions and Covid-19 rules with the highly contagious Delta variant. The delta variant is already dominant in the USA, but it is not the right step to have more people with the delta variant in the USA. US President Joe Biden announced an imminent decision on the subject when Chancellor Angela Merkel (CDU) visited in mid-July. For many, this had raised hopes of easing. However, this is not the case for the time being.
The EU had already called on member states last month to gradually lift restrictions on travelers from the US and several other countries. Germany then allowed entries from the USA, among others, “for all permitted purposes of residence, including tourism”. In return, however, the USA did not relax the restrictions for travelers from Europe. Entry is only possible in certain exceptional cases.

Ex-President Donald Trump wanted to loosen the restrictions in January. Back then, the corona situation was far more dramatic than it is today. Biden rejected the easing when he took office. Both were criticized for their decisions. The US is no longer making as fast progress in vaccination as hoped.
