The British driver has struck a deal to launch a new clothing line with Quadrant , his gaming and racing brand, which has an off-road theme and includes a photo shoot with a rally car.

“I want to try rallying at some point,” Norris told Motorsport.com in an interview before the summer break.

“Our next collection with Quadrant clothing is based a bit on an off-road vibe. So we recently went to shoot a piece that included rallying.”

“And I realized that seeing it first-hand for the first time, those people are crazy. It made me really want to try it.”

“I might start where there are no trees, maybe at the end of the year, I just want to try it, somewhere that’s safe! With tire barriers or something.”

“The control of the car, the handbrake, the timing and all those things, it’s always good to try something different from time to time to control the car more and maintain an ingenuity that also goes beyond the way of driving a racing car. Formula 1”.

“It’s like karting . A lot of Formula 1 drivers like to do karting, because it gives them back the feeling of feeling things more. The same goes for rallies, I want to go and try something new.”

Norris wouldn’t be the first F1 driver to test rally in recent years. Current Alfa Romeo driver Valtteri Bottas took part in the Arctic Rally on a couple of occasions, while 2007 world champion Kimi Raikkonen took part in several rounds of the World Rally Championship during his goodbye to F1. between 2010 and 2011.

Asked if he would consider taking part in a competitive rally in the future, the McLaren driver replied: “Maybe one day.”

“I’ll have to try it first, just to see what it looks like and how it feels, just because it looks awesome and yeah, there are always new things in life that people want to try and do.”

“It’s definitely something I’d like to try at some point,” Norris concluded.
