Crown Prince Haakon and Mette-Marit have their 20th wedding anniversary on Wednesday. Is this threatening to fail?
Oslo – As the royal family announced on Sunday evening, the daughter of the Norwegian crown prince couple, Princess Ingrid Alexandra, was infected with the corona virus. The 17-year-old will now be isolated at home on Gut Skaugum. The rest of the family had not tested positive, the statement said.
Corona infection has consequences for the entire royal family
However, this incident will have consequences for everyone. Crown Prince Haakon and Mette-Marit had to cancel all events that would have taken place in the next few days. This also includes the festivities associated with the couple’s 20th wedding anniversary.
Among other things, a meeting with young people was planned to commemorate the founding of their fund 20 years ago. The so-called Crown Prince Couple Fund is intended to support young people who are at risk of falling out of society. It was founded on the occasion of their wedding on August 25, 2001.

Crown Prince Haakon and his family will probably miss the disembarkation of Norway’s royal yacht due to Princess Ingrid Alexandra’s corona illness. The “Norge”, as it is called in the local language, was a gift from the people of Norway to their king and namesake of the current Crown Prince, King Haakon the Seventh in 1947.
Nowadays the yacht is used for the participation of the king in various regattas, as well as for official trips abroad. It is also used as a base for major yacht races in European waters in which the king participates. The Crown Prince and Crown Princess also use it for their visits to various counties and the yacht can often be seen off the coast of Norway in the summer.
