Originally built in 1962 and named after the prominent and former director of the Chamber of Commerce, Lake Stanley Draper is one of three urban reservoirs in Oklahoma City (along with Hefner and Overholser). It is located in the southeastern part of the metro and draws water from Lake Atoka and the McGee Creek Reservoir.

Lake Draper is a popular Oklahoma City recreation spot with its many fishing piers, a marina, picnic areas, and great open water for skiing.

Statistics

According to the city, Lake Stanley Draper covers approximately 2,900 acres and has an average depth of 34 feet. It is 98 feet at its deepest point, slightly larger and deeper than Lake Hefner and much deeper than Overholser.

Location

Lake Draper is located near I-240 in southeast Oklahoma City, between Midwest Boulevard and Post Road. The dam is on the south side near SE 149th, and the marina is on the northwest finger at SE 104th. Stanley Draper Drive runs for more than three-quarters of the lake.
