Oktoberfest 2022 is just around the corner. But what should the weather be like for the Wiesn? A first, cautious forecast should please many.

Munich – In less than three weeks the time has come: After two years of the Corona compulsory break, the Oktoberfest in Munich will take place again. Corona had made a festival impossible in the past, and expert opinions on the medical risk are still divided. Within the population, the anticipation does not seem to be the same everywhere, even if the reservations speak a different language. Either way, many people can hardly wait for the Oktoberfest tapping, but will the weather then play along? A first view:

Throughout the summer, Petrus gave Munich and the region sometimes weeks of summer weather. A dream summer for some, just too warm for others. Nature in particular suffered and is suffering from the lack of rain and the high temperatures, even if a few recent thunderstorms, such as during the Robbie Williams concert or at Helene Fischer a few weeks ago, provided a little relaxation. Graduate meteorologist Dominik Jung from wetter.net now reveals to tz.de how the Oktoberfest weather is this year.

Weather for the Oktoberfest 2022: This is the Munich forecast for the Wiesn

“If the weather conditions that have lasted for weeks hold out, it looks like there will be little rain and many beautiful days with sunshine!” Jung said in his forecast. The temperatures at the Oktoberfest can only be estimated at the moment, Jung continues, it could be around 20-25 degrees warm. And yet: “It could be wonderful Wiesn weather, with little rain and pleasant temperatures,” says the weather expert. Only one thing is certain: the great heat should then no longer exist, only storms cannot be ruled out. These “could come, but don’t have to.”
