Orange Sky – Restaurant Review

0

Orange Sky has a dramatic, modern dining room with clean, modern lines and comfortable seating with large tables and floor-to-ceiling glass to offer spectacular views. There is a lobby lounge with music and an outdoor patio with mountain views and an infinity pool.

Self-parking available. You will have to walk through the casino [somewhat smoky] to reach the Orange Sky elevators. I do not recommend Orange Sky for children, but of course they will be accommodated.

After dinner, you may want to stop at 270 Degree on the 14th floor for more views, live shows, dancing, and drink specials. There was a private party the night I visited so I can’t comment on that.

Orange Sky – Damage

A salad, an antipasto to share, two entrees, a seafood addition to a main course, two side dishes, and a dessert designed for two, excluding drinks, tax, and tip, comes to $ 148, or $ 74 per person.

Orange Sky is recognized by Wine Spectator for having one of the best wine lists in Arizona. A good selection of wines is offered by the glass, with prices ranging from around $ 10 to $ 20 a glass. The complete wine list, with prices, is available online.

The Orange Sky Experience at Talking Stick Resort

Just getting to your table at Orange Sky is an experience! Check in at the desk on the main floor of the hotel / casino, where you will see a notice of the dress code in Orange Sky. Hats, shorts, T-shirts, tank tops, baggy clothing, or ripped jeans are not allowed. You will be escorted to the elevator that takes you to the 15th floor. There is a spacious lounge just outside the restaurant where you can relax before dinner and enjoy a cocktail and live musical entertainment. If your reservations are later in the evening, you may want to get there early to enjoy that Orange Sky Sunset.

There is a set of curtained private enclaves along the west wall of the restaurant where groups of up to four people can witness the sunset in an intimate setting. You must spend a minimum amount to reserve one of these tables. While they are romantic and take on that gorgeous sunset, keep in mind that the rest of the western view is not all that appealing.

The dining room is impressive. There are not many restaurants in the city that offer so much space between tables, so it is very comfortable to have a private conversation even if you are not at an enclave table. There are tables with mountain views to the north (the prettiest), golf course views to the east, views to the west (great at sunset, but also brilliant!), As well as a community table.

The roasted beet salad ($ 11) is wonderful, crisp and crisp. A plate of antipasti ($ 29) with ham, bresaola, sopressata, goat cheese, fig jam, pickled asparagus, and olives is fine, but doesn’t stand out compared to various butcher block dishes available at various bars. of city wines.

The entrees are excellent. Snake River Farms’ Kobe Flat Iron Steak ($ 40, 8 oz) is tender and so tasty. Shrimp and Scallop Steaks ($ 8 each) aren’t really steaks, but consist of a large shrimp and diver scallop wrapped in jalapeño bacon. It was delicious; the scallops were cooked without overdoing it. You can also order them as a side to any other main dish if you just can’t decide between meat or seafood. Guests can choose a sauce for each main course and, for an additional fee, they can have additional sauces.

They are served alongside.

Sides are ordered separately here ($ 8 each) and served for sharing. The artichoke gratin was tasty but not sticky with cheese. Less pleasantly, the Snap Peas, Pea Shoots, Pasta & Parmesan were bland and mostly pasta.

The S’Mores Creme Brulee for Two ($ 12) was equally disappointing – not big enough to share and uncomfortable to eat.

The menu changes from time to time and the prices are not displayed on the online menu.

Orange Sky is a restaurant that exudes “special occasion” or “brings visitors from other cities.” Make sure you are in the lounge or on the patio enjoying a cocktail or at a table enjoying your dinner during one of our beautiful sunsets, which you can count on for more than 300 days of the year. Make sure you have a reservation. If you come to Orange Sky before one of the shows in the Showroom or Ballroom, allow plenty of time as this is not a place for quick service or fast food. You will want to take your time.
