A man with a 30 centimeter knife threatened police officers in Paris. According to Interior Minister Darmanin, a danger to the police and passengers was averted.

Paris – Two police officers shot dead a man armed with a knife in the Gare du Nord train station in Paris. The person threatened a police patrol in France on Monday morning with a knife about 30 centimeters long, the police said. Accordingly, the lettering “ACAB” was to be read on the blade, which stands for “All Cops are Bastards” (all cops are bastards).

The incident happened around 7 a.m. on public transport in the greater Paris area, Interior Minister Gérald Darmanin said on Twitter. The officials had used the weapon and thus “avoided the danger to themselves and the passengers”. Transport Secretary Jean-Baptiste Djebbari told radio station RMC that the attacker was apparently known to the police “because he often hung around the station”.
