Pecco Bagnaia seeks redemption at Mugello

The MotoGP world championship returns to action this weekend for one of the most anticipated events by all Italian fans, the Italian Grand Prix. As usual, it will take place on the famous ups and downs of the Mugello International Circuit .

The scheduled event on the Tuscan track will be Ducati ‘s first home race, apart from the San Marino GP to be held in Misano next September.

The Ducati Lenovo team riders, Jack Miller and Pecco Bagnaia, arrive at Mugello determined to get a good result in front of all the Ducatistas that will populate the circuit’s grandstands.

Having just come from second place in the last French Grand Prix, Miller, who currently has a sixth position as the best result in Mugello, wants to return to aspire to the top positions and score important points for the general classification, in the who is currently fifth, 40 points behind the leader, Fabio Quartararo.

“The Italian Grand Prix is always very special as it is my team’s home race. The atmosphere is amazing and I can’t wait to race in front of all the Ducati fans,” said the Australian rider.

“During the last few Grands Prix I have developed a good feeling with my Desmosedici GP, and I hope I can find that feeling again here at Mugello, a track that I really like. Overall, I am positive and I think I can have another good end to the week here in Italy”.

Bagnaia, who suffered a crash at Le Mans while fighting for victory, hopes to redeem himself from this mistake in front of his fans.

“Finally on Sunday we race at Mugello and I’m very excited. The races in Italy are always very exciting and I look forward to a fantastic weekend with all the Italian fans and the Ducatistas supporting us on the track,” said the Italian rider.

“After the accident in France, I want to redeem myself. Now more than ever, it is crucial not to make any more mistakes in order not to lose any more important points for the championship. I will give my best, as always.”

The two Ducati Lenovo Team riders, together with Enea Bastianini (Gresini Racing), winner of the last race, will leave Borgo Panigale this afternoon to reach the Mugello circuit via the picturesque Passo della Futa. Miller, on a Multistrada V4, Bagnaia, on a Monster, and Bastianini, on a Diavel, will be escorted by the bikes of the Ducati Owners Clubs of Bologna and Florence, who, together with the three riders, will also complete a complete lap of the circuit .

At the end of the parade, the rest of the Ducati riders, Jorge Martín, Johann Zarco, Fabio Di Giannantonio, Luca Marini, Marco Bezzecchi and Michele Pirro, will greet the fans at the finish line for a group photo with their bikes, the Desmosedici GP.
