Ivan Perisic , one of the fixtures in the starting eleven of the Croatian national team, will not be able to play the round of 16 match of the European Championship scheduled for Monday against Spain in Copenhagen. The Inter Milan winger tested positive for coronavirus in the last test, as reported by the Federation of his country causing immediate withdrawal for the trip and possibly for the rest of the tournament.

The 32-year-old player remains isolated and asymptomatic, according to Croatian media. Perisic was the executioner of the Spanish team in the last match between the two teams at Euro 2016. The winger finished his team's 1-2 comeback in the last match of the group stage by sending Spain to face Italy in Round of 16 to later be eliminated.

The loss of Perisic joins that of an Ivan Rakitic who resigned from the Eurocup to rest this summer. Spain will have to pay special attention in its duel to Luka Modric and the emerging Ante Rebic, the main threats of the Balkan team after the absence of the Inter Milan player.
