Fabio Quartararo won the 2021 Italian Grand Prix MotoGP race at Mugello Circuit, but unfortunately all of that took a backseat. Two hours before the start, the death of Jason Dupasquier , the Moto3 rider who suffered an accident during qualifying on Saturday, was known.
Although some pilots were not very in agreement in running, finally the race took place. Before starting, an emotional minute of silence was observed in memory of the young Swiss rider on the Mugello finish straight, with Dupasquier’s motorcycle presiding over the tribute.
At the end, there were hardly any celebrations on the part of the pilots. Dupasquier was present at the statements of all of them and they dedicated their results to him. Miguel Oliveira and Joan Mir completed the darkened podium, while Pecco Bagnaia and Marc Márquez crashed on the second lap.
