Nine world titles, 115 wins, 235 podiums. It is not necessary to say much more to know who we are talking about. Italy remains proud of its great ambassador, even after retiring from two wheels and embarking on a new project on four.

Valentino Rossi may have hung up his MotoGP helmet, but he is still acclaimed and loved in his homeland. Speaking of helmets, the city of Pesaro has decided to involve them in its particular tribute, dedicating “the largest in the world” to it.

It is a giant-size reproduction of one of the innumerable helmets that have contributed to creating and enlarging the legend of Valentino Rossi.

The sculpture has a height of 3.6 meters and a width of 5.40 meters, while its weight rises to 400 kilograms. It arrived in town on Monday morning, but was only discovered in the late afternoon.

The nine-time world champion made an appearance, as well as all his fans, who took to the streets to see their idol, who finished off the act by signing some autographs and taking some photos with them.

The Italian was also surprised when they discovered the design, and reacted enthusiastically during the presentation. In the motor world, this safety element is one of the few things that drivers can decorate to their liking, choosing colors and decorations but always respecting the sponsors. He also wanted to share the event on social networks, as well as some snapshots of the helmet to thank the city for the gesture.

“I like it a lot,” Rossi said. “I loved the idea from the first moment. I’ve been a big fan of helmets since I was a kid, and it was also what brought me closer to motorcycling. After all, it was also the designs of my helmets that made me so famous”.

The idea came from Massimiliano Santini , who promoted the proposal and it was Riccardo Sivelli’s company Extralab that put it into practice, along with four other companies in the area.

The mayor of Pesaro, Matteo Ricci , also attended the event: “Valentino has moved millions of people around the world, and here beats the strongest heart, which has always believed in him: his victory was also the victory of this land That is why we have decided to pay tribute to his career. And then we want to reinforce the “Rossi pilgrimage in synergy with that of Tavullia”, the mayor concluded.
