plague of crows on the outskirts

Why hundreds of crows regularly gather on tall trees on the outskirts of town, squawking loudly. And why many connoisseurs are enthusiastic about these special animals. Read more about this here:

Anyone who lives on the outskirts of Schwäbisch Gmünd can watch this spectacle every winter evening at dusk: hundreds of crows gather in large trees. After a short pause, the whole group makes its way towards the city center with loud screams. The city administration of Schwäbisch Gmünd confirms on request that there are isolated complaints from residents. However, the administration's hands are tied, since all songbird species, and thus also magpies, crows and jays, have been under full protection since 1979 according to the EC Birds Directive. The Gmünder Tagespost* reveals how the loud crows will continue.
