Our regular analysts, Uri Puigdemont and Germán García Casanova discuss in the MotoGP podcast on Motorsport.com , about the different approaches that Marc Márquez is presented with when facing the grand prix after a new episode of diplopia (double vision), an eye ailment that has already manifested itself to the Honda rider four times in his career, twice in the last five months, which leads one to think that any new blow to the head after a fall puts a recurrence of the problem at serious risk .

Should Marquez recalibrate the level of risk he takes in each and every test he takes part in with the Honda? It is a difficult question to answer, but one that we have tried to analyze from different points of view, from the “people do not change” that Alberto Puig released on Saturday, to the reservations on the part of the corridor’s environment, which believes that, if so much the pitcher goes to the source, it can end up breaking.

With such an open World Championship and without great differences in the general classification after the first three races, Márquez returns to action with his options intact and, surely, it will be the level of demand to which the rivals subject him that makes the rider modulate the risks to take.

A championship, by the way, led for the first time in his life by Aleix Espargaró , who last Sunday achieved his first victory in the World Championship, and the first also for Aprilia in MotoGP, a historic and absolutely deserved moment for the Catalan, who his 32 years and father of two children, is in the best moment of his life, both sportingly and personally, a situation that has already led the Noale brand to inform him that it counts on him for the future beyond his current contract, which ends in December this year.

The one who does not yet have a contract for 2022 is, paradoxically, the defender of the title won last season, the Frenchman Fabio Quartararo , who continues to flirt with alleged offers from other brands to try to scratch a better contract from Yamaha, which remains immovable in the offer that he presented at the end of last season and that, then, Fabio’s representative rejected. We will see if he finally comes to regret that maneuver.
