Numerous demonstrators are expected in front of the Capitol in Washington on Saturday evening. They are fans of Donald Trump.
Washington DC – Massive protests are expected to form in front of the US Capitol on Saturday (September 18, 2021). Several organizations from the USA have called for this. The background to the large demonstration is the support of defendants who have to answer to court because of the storming of the Capitol in January.
The demonstration is scheduled to start around 6 p.m. German time. A large number of the responsible organizations are considered to be supporters of the former US President Donald Trump. A former Trump employee is primarily responsible for organizing the protest. He was previously on his campaign team for the 2020 US election.

The Washington police are preparing for a large-scale operation. Numerous security measures have already been taken around the US Capitol, including fences. Tom Manger, head of the Capitol Police, stressed on Friday that there were indications of possible threats around the demonstration. (do)
