It’s all about text messages, e-mails, social media accounts and photos: The police are hoping to find more information on Alec Baldwin’s smartphone about the fatal accident on a film set.

New York / Santa Fe – Less than two months after the fatal shot on a film set, the police want to seize the smartphone of Hollywood star Alec Baldwin (63), according to media reports.

The industry journal “Deadline” published a search warrant from a court in the state of New Mexico. The police had requested this, it is about text messages, emails, social media accounts and photos on the device.

Lawyer is confident

A Baldwin attorney was quoted by Deadline as saying, “We are confident that the evidence will show that Mr. Baldwin is not civilly or criminally responsible for the October 21 incident, and he continues to cooperate with the authorities.”

While shooting the western “Rust” on a film ranch in Santa Fe, New Mexico, camerawoman Halyna Hutchins (42) was fatally injured on October 21 and director Joel Souza (48) was hit on the shoulder. Leading actor Baldwin had used the gun for a scene during the rehearsal. The ongoing investigation revealed that the Colt contained real ammunition. The police are currently investigating how this could happen.

In an interview broadcast two weeks ago with the broadcaster ABC, Baldwin spoke for the first time in detail about the film set incident. He still couldn’t believe it happened. dpa
