Prince Julian of Sweden: Royal fans disappointed with christening

The baptism of Prince Julian of Sweden in August is eagerly awaited. But again the palace announces details that give hope for no spectacle. Fans are disappointed with that.

Stockholm – Due to the pandemic, it is not easy for the parents of the little baptized Prince Julian, Prince Carl Philip of Sweden (42) and his wife Sofia (36) to organize the baptism of their third child. Now the Swedish palace has published details that should make some royal fans sad *.

Since July 19th, the framework of the baptism, which will take place on August 14th, has been marked out. According to the latest official press release from the Swedish palace, it is clear that there will only be places for a few guests. A limited number of press representatives are allowed to attend the baptism outside the church of Drottningholm Palace and to document the arrival of the guests. Also, only a limited number of reporters are invited by the court to take part in the actual christening ceremony.

Timing details have now been released. Guests are expected to arrive at the church from 11 a.m. so that the baptism ceremony can start punctually at 12 p.m. At 1 p.m. the reception by Her Majesties King Carl XVI. Gustaf * (75) and Queen Silvia (77) will take place at Drottningholm Palace.

To everyone’s amazement, the palace had already announced in the first statement in June for the baptism that the ceremony would not be broadcast live on television *. After all, fans can look forward to the recording in a 45-minute summary on the day after the baptism.

The guest list has not yet been confirmed, but it is clear that it will be a stripped-down version due to the pandemic. This is a real shame now. 24royal.de is an offer from IPPEN.MEDIA.
