Princess Madeleine’s visit to Sweden is coming to an end, but shortly before her departure, Corona is thwarting her plans.
Stockholm – Many return to their homeland for the Christmas holidays and the New Year, including Princess Madeleine of Sweden (39). In mid-December, the American by choice traveled to Stockholm, where she was finally able to hug her parents and siblings as well as nieces and nephews again.
Princess Madeleine and her husband Chris O’Neill (47) and their three children attended the Christmas reception in the castle shortly after their arrival, followed a few days later by the celebration of Queen Silvia’s 78th birthday as well as Christmas and finally New Year’s Eve. The first weeks of the home visit could not have been more beautiful, but currently there is a clouded reunion in the palace. The reason? The departure of Madeleine’s family of five is getting closer and her departure from the Swedish royal family cannot take place as planned.

At the beginning of the week the royal family announced that King Carl XVI. Gustaf (75) and Queen Silvia tested positive for the corona virus. The regent couple is currently in domestic isolation at Drottningholm Palace.
