We knew that this moment was approaching, that it would come without fail, but it does not hurt less for that. According to The Gamer, the digital stores of PS3, PS Vita and PSP will close starting next July .

The sources consulted by the medium indicate that this announcement by Sony is scheduled to take place at the end of this month of March. This source clarifies that the PSP and PS3 stores will end their service on July 2 , while that of the last PlayStation laptop will resist until August 27 .

After this blackout takes effect, The Gamer explains that after those dates, digital copies of games or DLC will not be able to be purchased for any of these devices. It has not been clarified if all content that we have previously obtained can be downloaded again.

Launched in 2004 in Japan, the PSP is the oldest of these three machines, with 81 million units sold. The PS3 arrived two years later and reached 87 million. On the other hand, we find Vita, which marked the end of the portable market for Sony.

A few months ago, the Japanese company only allowed accessibility to the PlayStation Store on the three consoles from its own system, eliminating the possibility of doing it from the app or the web. Now, physical games will be the only way to enjoy new games from all three machines.
